STRATEGIC NARRATIVE INSIGHTS
Happy New Year!
Unlike stories, narratives are open-ended.
A narrative tells you how to start something, but you get to invent the end.
For instance, the narrative about the beginning of the year tells us we should make new year’s resolutions to change some of our habits. The bad ones, hopefully.
So, on January 1st, you make resolutions, and then you get to decide if you will stick to them and turn this into a success story.
Most people make new year’s resolutions but don’t stick to them.
Still, we keep making resolutions.
That’s how powerful that narrative is.
Isn’t it funny how narratives work?
